Super Bowl Breakfast sponsored by CWAM
This is taking up much of our life nowadays as we continue to see that God's plans are bigger than our own. You may recall that our mission experience was with YWAM (youth with a mission). Well CWAM is a separate organization that we have started in the US to "introduce the needs of business to the needs of missions". We find that business needs Heart & Purpose while missions need Resources and Money. Each has what the other needs!
So our initial focus has been to help Business Leaders take mission trips with their families. We find literally hundreds of folks saying "I've always wanted to take a mission trip with my family". We provide a turnkey mission experience for these folks. Lotsa fun!
Anyway, God opened a door for CWAM to sponsor the official Super Bowl Breakfast the day before the big game here in our hometown, Indianapolis! It was amazing, over 2,000 attendees. The SB targets the same Business Decision Makers that we wish to target with CWAM :-)
It was an amazing event. London Fletcher a 14 year veteran Defensive player for the Washington
Redskins was awarded the NFL Man of the Year Award at the breakfast. He
started a ministry called London Bridge to help at risk youth bridge the
gaps in their lives. The NFL Man of the year is one of only two awards
voted on by the players themselves.
Bart Starr an absolutely amazing human being presented London with his award.
Bart Starr has single-handedly made this breakfast the great success it is. This was the 25th anniversary of the breakfast and Bart Starr's been at them all. Bart was the MVP of the first two super bowls that he played in with the Green Bay Packers.
We had the great pleasure of having he and his wife Cherry at our home the night before the breakfast. We were so humbled at these great servants of God and their fellow man.

The YWAM base here in the DR teaches a Vacation Bible School every Sat in one of the many Haitian Refugee camps. I was able to go along and it was such a rewarding experience. The children are so beautiful and happy! Life is funny that way...just a hug or a piggy back ride meant so much to them!!!
From Mother Teresa: "Only in heaven will we see how much we owe to the poor for helping us to love God better because of them."

Wow! What a difference 4 feet makes
Another great idea. Put the door on he side so the rain doesn't run over the doorway.
Great story. This is first Homes of Hope in Dominican Republic. A pastor was trying to build a new church and was living with three kids in a shack. He said, "I will focus on building a church for the Lord, He will provide me a home."
He was correct. Just before the Pastor finished building his church, Homes of Hope gave him a home!!!!
God's Fulfillment!!

Differences in Homes of Hope Dominican Republic vs. Mexico
culture needs separate bedroom for children.
Cement board siding. Flame resistant and vapor barrier. Much much more
humidity here.
Vented in roof for air circulation.
Metal roof for climate durability. Hurricanes rip off shingles.
Louverd shutter windows For ventilation.
Door frame metal. Easier to find metal supplies than wood.
Taller slab. Can anchor walls deeper for hurricanes. Also helps with moisture.
